Admitting a Patient to a Ward
The Admission tab is used when an outpatient visit becomes an inpatient admission or when a patient needs to be placed under ward care.
🛏 Admission details to record
- Reason for admission and referral information
- Personal belongings brought by the patient
- Expected discharge date
- Patient status fields required by your hospital
- Any custom admission fields configured for your workflow
🏥 Ward and bed assignment
✅ Assign immediately
Select the ward and choose an available bed during admission when the bed decision is already known.
⏳ Send to queue
Leave the bed field empty when the bed manager should assign a bed later from the To-Admit queue.
💡 Good handover: Add enough admission context for ward staff to understand why the patient is being admitted and what should happen next.
