Use Stock Activity to understand what changed in a store and trace a movement back to its source. It is useful when a balance looks unexpected or you need a record of the day’s inventory operations.
Read movements in context
Stock Activity brings together purchases, sales, dispensing, transfers and audits for the selected store. Depending on the movement, a record can show the quantity change, person responsible, time, cost or price and destination. Filters help narrow a busy history to the period or activity you are investigating. For the history of one item, the product’s Timeline is a more focused starting point.
Step by step
Open the store’s activity view
Confirm the selected store, then choose Stock Activity from the inventory action menu.
Narrow the period and activity
Use month, year or day filters, search and the relevant activity type to reduce the list to the records you need.
Inspect the movement
Read the quantity, staff member, date and related details. Open the associated purchase, sale, transfer or audit to understand why the movement occurred.
Keep a useful report
Print the filtered activity view when you need a review copy. Check the filters first so the report covers the intended period and events.
An activity log is most useful when you open the source record. A quantity change alone does not explain whether stock was sold, used internally, moved or corrected.
Before you move on
- Confirm the store and date range.
- Review the movement type as well as the quantity.
- Use a stock audit for a confirmed physical discrepancy.
